Kellie Pickler tweeted a tease yesterday, informing followers to tune in to "Good Morning America" today.
Most of us thought that she'd be discussing about music. We bet that nobody could have ever imagined that she would be shaving her head!
The country star and American Idol alum buzzed off all her blonde hair on Tuesday in support of her best friend, Summer Holt Miller, 36, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in June and is starting chemotherapy treatments on Thursday.
"Cancer does not discriminate," Pickler claimed on her Facebook page today, after the unveiling of a video showing the shearing on "Good Morning America". Pickler wants to spread the message that early detection is the key.
Her friend, Miller, added: "If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it."
On Twitter this afternoon, Pickler wrote: "Thinking about being "G.I. Jane" for Halloween. ;)"
What do you think of Kellie Pickler's decision to shave her head in support of her best friend who is diagnosed with breast cancer?
We find it very supportive and sweet. Hope the message about the early detection of cancer is widely spread!
