Lady Gaga isn't the first celebrity to gain weight.
If anyone can relate to being scrutinized for weight gain, that's definitely Kirstie Alley.
"Most of my career I was pretty lean, so when I gained the weight, obviously people (noticed)," the former "Fat Actress" star, 61, told PEOPLE magazine. "With (Lady Gaga), she gains (25) pounds and it becomes this huge thing."Gaga, 26, who acknowledged her weight gain to radio host Elvis Duran last month, recently posted a quote on her website from Marilyn Monroe that said: "To all the girls that think you're ugly because you're not a size 0, you're the beautiful one. It's society who's ugly."
Alley agrees with that sentiment, claiming: "It's Hollywood that is obsessed with weight. I think everyone should try to be healthy. Lean is better than not lean, but I think we send a horrible message to the world, especially to girls."As for the amount Gaga has gained, Alley stated: "She was so freaking skinny that (25) pounds would make her a what, size 2? There's an insanity here. I know it's a pressure on her. I know it is. It's really hard to play that game." Maybe Kirstie is right...What do you think?

Lady Gaga has begun her own "body revolution."
On Tuesday (September 25), Mother Monster launched a page titled "A Body Revolution 2013" on her Little Monsters site, encouraging fans to embrace and share their flaws. For that reason she shared a somber photo of herself wearing yellow lingerie via her Little Monsters website. "Bulimia and anorexia since I was 15," Gaga wrote in the caption.The revelation came on the heels of Gaga's recent radio interview with Elvis Duran, in which she admitted to being on a diet "because I gained, liked, 25 pounds" during her five weeks off between tour dates.
At the time, the Grammy winner insisted she didn't "feel bad about" putting on a few extra pounds. "Not even for a second."
"I have to be on such a strict diet constantly," Gaga explained. "It's hard because it's a quite vigorous show, so I tend to bulk up, get muscular, and I really don't like that. So I'm trying to find a new balance."
It has to be noted that Gaga shared some words of wisdom from Marilyn Monroe via Twitter on September 22: "To all the girls who think you're ugly because you're not a size 0, you're the beautiful ones. It's society who's ugly," Mother Monster tweeted. Gaga then added: "Thank you to my fans who love me no matter what and know the meaning of real beauty and compassion. I really love you."It has to be mentioned that months earlier Elton John, 65, claimed he was really worried about his friend's skinny frame. "She is frail, and she doesn't eat when she should," John quoted as saying. "I know how tiny she is and I do worry about her, yes."
"My mother and I created the BORN THIS WAY FOUNDATION for one reason: "to inspire bravery," Gaga stated on the site. "This profile is an extension of that dream. Be brave and celebrate with us your "perceived flaws," as society tells us. May we make our flaws famous, and thus redefine the heinous." In another post, Mother Monnster wrote: "Now that the body revolution has begun, be brave and post a photo of you that celebrates your triumph over insecurities."Needless to say that fans have already flooded the site with personal images, which Gaga herself has been captioning. In one, a fan is looking at herself in the mirror with her stomach exposed. "Emily Rose recovering from anorexia. We support your bravery and have compassion for your pain," Gaga wrote encouragingly. "(and huh gUUrl, you don't need to diet ur FINE AS HELL.)"
But fans aren't only posting photos... Thousands have already commented on the website, thanking Gaga for sharing her battles and giving them an outlet to share their own insecurities. "You give us the strength to take the parts we are supposed to be ashamed of and make them into our pride," Vernoika commented. "Thank you so much for always believing in us and trusting us enough to let us in on your personal life and struggles."Not long before launching the initiative, Gaga reached out to her fans in a separate post, explaining that they were the sole inspiration behind A Body Revolution 2013. She also addressed her constant battle with her weight and revealed she's happier than ever with her body. "I have been startled and overwhelmed with pride and emotion the past few days. Gratitude mostly. Seeing you post photos of things on your bodies and in your minds that you feel society tells you you should be ashamed of. You are showing them you have no shame," Gaga wrote.

If Lady Gaga's wish was to confuse the media as they estimate about her recent weight gain, she undoubtedly picked the right outfit.
Mother Monster, no stranger to an over-the-top wardrobe, wore a giant pink and blue suit and blue platform boots leaving the Park Hyatt Vendome Hotel in Paris, France on Saturday.
Gaga, who recently stated she loves eating pizza and pasta, rounded out the outfit with a futuristic pair of shades.It has to be noted that Gaga had put on so many pounds during a break, her record label recommended she shed pounds after they had to send her new costumes for the rest of her "Born This Way Ball" tour.

In a new interview with radio host Elvis Duran, Lady Gaga, 26, admits she's recently gained some weight.
"I'm dieting right now, because I gained, like, 25 pounds," Gaga told the radio show (via Huffington Post) before she headed on tour. "And you know I really don't feel bad about it, not even for a second. I have to be on such a strict diet constantly. It's hard because it's a quite vigorous show, so I tend to bulk up, get muscular, and I really don't like that. So I'm trying to find a new balance."Gaga blames her dad Joe Germanotta's restaurant as the reason for her recent weight gain.
"I love eating pasta and pizza," claims Gaga. "I'm a New York Italian girl. That's why I have been staying out of New York. My father opened a restaurant. It's so amazing ... it's so freaking delicious, but I'm telling you I gain five pounds every time I go in there. So my dad wants me to eat at the restaurant, and I'm, like, I've got to go where I can drink green juice."
But some may argue that Gaga doesn't need to go on a diet.
Back in April, Mother Monster was criticized after she tweeted, "Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger. Pop singers don't eat. I was born this way."
It has to be mentioned that in June Gaga's good friend Elton John expressed concern over Gaga's skinny frame: "She is frail, and she doesn't eat when she should, and she's a girl, and it's tougher for a girl," John told The Guardian. "She works really hard. She will be in Denmark one night and Saudi Arabia the next. I know how tiny she is and I do worry about her, yes."Source: Us magazine.

Gaga is on the European leg of her "Born This Way Ball" tour, and has been nagging for media exposure for the past couple of weeks.
On Sunday, for instance, Mother Monster went to London Fashion Week in a pink burka, festooned with raccoon tails.
In case anyone was minded to ignore her, she carried a candystriped handbag bearing an outrageously offensive word, picked out in diamante.Crushingly for her, it barely made the media buzz she wanted.
The previous Friday she flew to New York and threw a £1 million launch party for her new perfume at Macy’s, turning up in a dress shaped like the bottle, complete with a gold mask.
Nobody much paid attention - it made just a few paragraphs on the celebrity websites.Gaga even posted a picture on Twitter of her and her boyfriend Taylor Kinney embracing nude in a swimming pool last month. It didn’t make the headlines...
For Gaga who loves to shock, nothing could be worse that that...
On stage in an unflattering pair of fishnets from which her posterior bulged alarmingly, at 26 she looked like a woman whose stardom is fading fast. And so in the middle of a concert which critics noted was both bland and shrill, she resorted to that old favourite of publicity seekers: smoking pot, or at least appearing to.When history comes to judge this piece of "bravery", then the fact that she was in Amsterdam, where smoking marijuana is effectively decriminalised, should be taken into consideration.
In the safe environment of Holland, Gaga lit up.
In one deeply cynical gesture, Gaga told her audience that she was in the "appropriate place" to discuss her passion for the drug.Gaga quoted as saying: "I want you to know it has totally changed my life and I’ve really cut down on drinking. It has been a totally spiritual experience for me."
Gaga even wore a T-shirt with marijuana leaf symbols on it, and joked that she was going to talk to President Obama in a bid to make cannabis legal worldwide. Mother Monster claimed the leaf symbol is the "new peace sign".
The web was buzzing yesterday with reaction to her stunt, most of it asking her to shut up and go away.
And anyone who can declare on stage as she did last week: "Changing the world is as easy as changing your hair," is perhaps not someone worthwhile.It has to be noted that drugs campaigners believe that Gaga’s intervention is deeply and quite seriously unhelpful.
Lucy Dawes, from the anti-drugs charity Cannabis Skunk Sense quoted as saying: "It’s totally irresponsible. People like Lady Gaga are in a position where, if they run into problems, they can afford to pay for expensive rehab. By endorsing marijuana, she runs the risk of leading thousands of young people into a world of darkness."
Gaga has recently admitted that she conquered an addiction to cocaine before she found fame.Her dad Joe helped to shock her out of her cocaine dependency. Gaga told an interviewer: "My dad was like: "I know what you’re doing, and just so you know, I did it and I lost every friend and everything that I ever had while I did it."He shared with me his life story and his struggle, so that was what ultimately changed my life."
The question is: Why is Gaga happy to proselytise about cannabis now?It seems that Gaga is now struggling to stay relevant. The time will tell if she is "reductive" as Madonna called her. What do you think?

Lady Gaga showed off a much fuller figure and looked decidedly meatier than ever before as she took to the stage on Tuesday night in Amsterdam.
Wearing her cherished carnivorous corset, Gaga, 26, flaunted her new curves for all to see as she hit the Netherlands for the latest stop on her "Born This Way" tour.
Looking much bigger than usual around her thigh and hip region, Mother Monster exposed a fuller face as she belted out her biggest hits. Her stage appearance came as it was reported the 5ft 1in star has gained around 30lbs.According to nutritionist Majid Ali, who has not treated Gaga: "Gaga appears to have gained at least 30 pounds."
As the Alejandro hitmaker later changed into a pair of high-waisted khaki trousers and a black bralet last night, her weight gain around her waist was apparent to see.
It has to be noted that Gaga has been open about how hard she usually works to maintain her trim physique and caused controversy earlier this year by revealing her diet habits.
Writing on her Twitter page, Gaga claimed: "Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay."However, Mother Monster has previously admitted she can't resist hearty Italian food.

Kate Middleton is just "any other celebrity" to the editor of the Irish Daily Star, who recently published the topless photos of the Duchess of Cambridge.
"The duchess would be no different to any other celeb pics we would get in, for example Rihanna or Lady Gaga," Mike O'Kane told the BBC."She's not the future queen of Ireland so really the only place this is causing fury seems to be in the UK", O'Kane claimed.
"Everybody in Ireland wants to know what all the kerfuffle is about," he added, stating printing the photos was a "service to our readers. She's married into the royal family, she's one of the most photographed people in the world, and she decides to partially disrobe on a balcony where it can be seen from a public road and she's stunned now," he chided.It has to be noted that the scadal began from the French magazine Closer, which has since removed the offending photos from its website.An Italian gossip magazine owned by the same company, is also planning to publish.
It has to be mentioned that the photos are not being published in the Northern Ireland edition of The Irish Daily Star. Lady Gaga is certainly not afraid of taking risks regarding her looks. So, she followed the latest hair trend: she shaved her head!
Well, Mother Monster often changes up her look to shock her fans, but this time Gaga's latest look is anything but a fashion statement.
Gaga, 26, decided to shave the back of her head to honor the death of her close friend Terry Richardson's mother.In fact, Gaga tweeted a photo of her new look, which seemed to show her brown hair pulled into a high bun on top of her head with a shaved section beneath.Gaga accompanied the shot with the caption: "I did it for u Terry. I'm sorry about ure mommy. She has princess die, but were all princess high."
Gaga's comment also made reference to her most recent song, "Princess D.I.E", which she wrote in tribute to the late Princess Diana.The new look came after Terry informed fans of his mother's death on his Tumblr page.
Terry wrote: "R.I.P. Annie Lomax, My Mom 1938-2012."
An accompanying caption on Terry's website underneath a picture of Annie read: "Terry’s love of his mother is inspiring. His touching, candid photos of her are some of my favourites. He captured all her crazy joy so beautifully. My heart aches for him."As well as a photo of Annie smiling on his Tumblr page, Terry also documented his mother's final moments in pictures.

According to reports, 71% of Lady Gaga's 29 million Twitter followers could be fake. It has to be mentioned that Mother Monster made social networking history in March of this year when she became the first celebrity to gather 20 million followers on Twitter, while marketing experts also revealed that Gaga made $30 million (£18.9 million) via the service.However, a research by the social media company "Status People" has suggested that nearly three quarters of Gaga's followers are not real but are instead either inactive or have been created by spamming computers known as "bots".
In case you wonder how that can be possible to know, Status People's research tool separates Twitter followers into three categories: fake, inactive and good. In fact, the company executive Rob Waller explained to the Guardian: "A fake account is set up to follow people or send out spam. They normally have no followers, but follow large numbers of people."An inactive account is one in which there has been no activity for a while. They could be real people, but we would describe them as consumers of information rather than sharers of information," Waller added. "A good account is everything that remains."
On the other hand, don't forget that Twitter followers can be purchased online to boost a celebrity or company's popularity. It's so sweet when celebrities take on Twitter to express their love and respect for each other instead of exchaging insults. It has to be noted that recently, specifically on 19 April 2012, two of the biggest pop stars hit the site with a whole lot of love for each other.
The truth is that Lady Gaga has never hidden her love for the Princess of Pop, Britney Spears. During her MTV First , Mother Monster confessed that she used to call in to vote for Britney on "TRL," revealing that on the days she couldn't make it to Time Square to join in the fun she "would lay in bed and I would be speed dialing for Britney to have the #1 video." And last year when she presented Spears with her Video Vanguard VMA the two had a near-miss kiss that got everyone to gossip.So it's no surprise that Gaga, who left for South Korea to prep for the April 27 kick off of her "Born This Way Ball" in Seoul, hit Twitter with a packing list and high up on it was her Britney thermos.
After seeing Gaga's tweet, Britney replied with a bit of curiosity ("Wonder what @ladygaga keeps in the thermos?") and what seems like a promise to see Mother Monster on the road ("Can't wait to see you on tour. MISS YOU!").

This is Lady Gaga on the September cover of Vogue magazine , appearing skinny and stylish, some sort of vase-shaped. But her real image is very far from the truth... Apparently, this isn’t what she looked like during the shoot - at all. As you can judge by taking a look at the photos, Mother Monster is undoubtedly photoshopped. On the other hand, if Gaga was actually built the way she appears on the cover of Vogue, she wouldn’t be able to walk...
So, the question is: "Do you like the real Gaga or the product of some-obviously-talented handlers??"

Who could have ever imagined that Lady Gaga and Lindsay Lohan were this close?
Mother Monster had a sleepover with Lindsay and photographer Ellen von Unwerth at Lindsay's frequent hangout, the super-exclusive Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood earlier this month and now she's sharing some photos from the girls' night out.Like any good sleepover, the girls obviously played dress-up, Lindsay sporting a fur coat in some photos and Lady Gaga wearing a shiny tiara and jewels. "I love to stay up late and take pictures of beautiful celebrities," Gaga writes in a caption for one of the three photos she posted on her website LittleMonsters.com.
But the two's surprising friendship isn't as random as one might speculate. Mother Monster just announced that she'll be making her film debut in Robert Rodriguez's "Machete Kills", and as we all know Lindsay starred in the original 2010 film "Machete".

Lady Gaga has been cast in Robert Rodriguez's "Machete Kills", a film famous for its oddball casting. Mother Monster clearly already put in work on the set and has her own PETA-friendly poster to boot.
The "Planet Terror" and "Sin City" director announced the news on Twitter Thursday.
Gaga confirmed her involvement, reiterating that this was her acting debut (super-long music videos notwithstanding):In case you wonder what would be Gaga's role, Gaga plays La Chameleon and joins a cast that includes Amber Heard, Sofia Vergera, Zoe Saldana, Jessica Alba, Danny Trejo (Machete himself) and Alex Vega (who played one of the titular characters in "Spy Kids" and recently Instagrammed a photo of her risque costume).None of these casting choices, however, are as shocking as Rodriguez's pick for the film's U.S. President: Charlie Sheen. Also rumored to be popping by? Mel Gibson.It has to be noted that the film, which is a follow up to Rodriguez's 2012 B-movie "Machete," has no release date. Trejo's character will reportedly be seen trying to stop an arms dealer from hastening the end of the world.
